Hey guys, sorry we’ve not been posting as regularly this week–we’ve had a busy few days, followed by a night in which a couple of very cute four-and-a-half-year-olds were not feeling well, and they might or might not have had “accidents” most of the night, some of which might or might not have required one of their parents to shower to remove the aforementioned “accidents” from various bodily locations, including their hair. Fortunately for you, there are no photos of that fun stuff.
However, ICC has been plowing ahead quite well. As we’ve previously shared, we spend the mornings of each day in class, discussing various issues related to living other-culturally. Which means we spend a lot of time sitting, and talking, and sitting, and then talking some more. Today’s first photo is from a day or two ago, when I was able to catch Miranda chatting about deep thoughts with one of her team’s table leaders.
We spend a lot of the day doing stuff just like this–not very photogenic, but important nonetheless. Sometimes, however, we do things that are much more fun, like this:
We learn lots of stuff, and even though we feel really weird when we’re asked to make grand motions like a classroom full of first graders, it sometimes helps us to remember some of it.
And, finally, we’ll leave you with this: Nightcrawler came up to me the other night while I was working on homework and asked me to make a photo of him in his “new hat.” He thought he looked really good. He and his brother have become increasingly aware of how my magic picture box works (especially now that I’m carrying a camera with me pretty much everywhere I go) and are fascinated with the idea of making photographs. Maybe a camera of their own is in their not-so-distant future.
I had a few with his eyes open, but I really liked the facial expression in this one. They are an incredible blessing from God, and we’re both grateful that God brought these guys to our family. Again, thank you for your continued prayers and concern for our family as we complete the last administrative/organizational item remaining before we can take up our assignment within Wycliffe.
You don’t have to apologize, guys! We know you’re busy! Love the pic of Nightcrawler! I know him by that tell-tale freckle on his nose! Praying that you may concentrate on your sessions while attending to the kids as well. May God’s continued strength, patience & perseverance be yours.
